"Opening"
Best Instrumental Composition
“Composing the music for EPCOT’s Test Track was the most challenging and ambitious project of my career. Over fifteen intense months, I pushed myself harder than ever because I knew this score had the potential to change my life. Every moment was worth it - the response from fans has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way. To have something I poured so much of myself into be recognized like this is an incredible honor.”

BIOGRAPHY
Colorado native Zain Effendi has emerged as one of the distinct creative forces in contemporary cinematic and symphonic music. A graduate of The Boston Conservatory and Berklee College of Music, his professional ascent began when Hans Zimmer brought him into Remote Control Productions, where Effendi contributed to major Hollywood franchises such as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Transformers, and Kung Fu Panda.
Since stepping into his solo career, Zain Effendi has crafted scores for Disney, Sony, Bad Robot, and a wide range of studios and storytellers. His work ‘Opening’ just won him a Hollywood Music in Media Award and his previous works have earned him distinctions including Best New Composer at the Hollywood Music & Media Awards, a Telly Award, an HMMA win for Best Live Concert (surpassing Jennifer Lopez), and multiple World Entertainment Awards. Most recently, Effendi composed Disney’s 70-minute original score for EPCOT’s newly reimagined Test Track – an expansive symphonic-electronic odyssey that sets a new benchmark for theme-park music.
His musical imprint can also be heard throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disney’s Starcruiser Hotel, Shanghai Disneyland’s Adventure in Rhythm musical, and the animated hit Beyblade on the Disney channel. Spanning Hollywood blockbusters, acclaimed concert works, and visionary projects for Walt Disney Imagineering, Effendi continues to push the boundaries of what orchestral music can be in the modern era.
